You are the light of the world a city on a hill cannot be hidden.Neither can one light a lamp and put it under a bowl instead they put it on its stand and it gives light to everyone in the house.In the same way let your light shine before men,that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven(Matthew 5:14-16) For the word of God says that; therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creation;the old is gone and the new has come!Going on further...In him(word of God,Jesus) was life and that life was the light of men.So we know out of Christ we have no light but in Christ we are the light since we have been made to be a new being and also as God spoke and said let there be light and there was so it is the same when Christ was revealed to us and he is the light that has driven out the darkness in our lives since also in the beginning we were void just like the earth was and darkness was over the surface just like our lives was in the beginning(Genesis 1:1-3) but because of God's goodness and the fact that he cares for us he also spoke his word in us.In some marriages you will find that the husband is a believer and the wife is not and vice versa in a case like this that's where our light needs to shine so bright so that we could win our companions over to the Lord Jesus...not by criticizing them or being hopeless about the situation or being negative,complaining but rather by being submissive to your help meet and obedient,not only when it comes to sex or issues pertaining to the children or finances but in everything and decision(1 Peter 3:1 Wives in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that if any of them do not believe the word they may be won over without words by the behaviour of their wives.vs 7:Husbands in the same way,be considerate as you live with your wives and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heir with YOU OF THE GRACIOUS GIFT OF LIFE SO THAT NOTHING WILL HINDER YOUR PRAYERS) for example if there was a w omen's conference and your husband is at home not feeling well or he says well you can't go you have to stay home because of this and that we need you here so i don't know what your reaction will be but one thing i know for sure is that as Christ Jesus was submissive to God so are women called to submit to our husbands to win them over and also husbands are required to be considerate and respectful to their wives.But when you act disobediently or in a manner that is disrespectful to your husband/wife how can one praise your Father in heaven?...they will question.In short terms let us let the love of Christ Jesus shine in us by our deeds and behaviour and start to evangelize not only by words but by our daily lives.Allowing the spirit of God to transform us deep within so we can also influence others to come into that light for the glory of the Lord rises above us(Isaiah 60:1)Christ Jesus is the glory of God revealed to us.
This is a profound message that our world needs to hear in a bid to stem the havoc lucifar is using to break homes. Oh! how we desparetly need this light in our homes.I may stand corrected but I think,it's(our homes)where this light is needed most. Let me throw a question out there, in cases where an unsaved spouse makes a demand that will cause one to compromise the Word;what does one do? For examples, A husband wanting to pierce his son's ears and a wife wanting a church baby dedication but in both cases the spouses strongly object?.
ReplyDeleteDenis first of all we have to realise that the devil only comes to kill steal and destroy and he has sneaked in so many times in homes of children of God to try break their marriage and that's where most couples have been blinded not see.We have to wake up and realize that we aren't wrestling against flesh&blood but powers of darkness and principalities in the heavenly so we have to be fully armored in God through Christ Eph 6:10-20The bible in Amos 3:3 clearly states that can two walk unless they have agreed to do so?and also marriage is a covenant where they have agreed to walk together through thick and thin and now they have been joined together to be one flesh Gen 2:23...In a case where the husband insist on an ear piercing for his son and he knows very well that his wife will object to the idea because of her strong faith in the Lord and the Word of God...that's where he needs to be considerate and respect where his wife is coming from when it comes to that matter of ear piercing for the son and also for the husband to refuse baby dedication at church well all babies have to be dedicated right?even non believers bring their children to church to be dedicated...for a wife who knows her word she has to be alert also and know that the enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour in this case her marriage but as long as she stands firm and seeks God for guidance and direction,wisdom and strength then whatever that may come against her she has an assurance that God is her deliver...My advice is that every marriage should be built on a solid Rock and that is Jesus psalms 127:1 except the Lord build the house then it's labourers labour in vain so even if its only the wife/husband who is a firm believer in Christ Jesus then no matter what happens as long as they have God in their marriage then they shall overcome all storms together and coming to a level of understanding without having to compromise one's belief...i hope i answered correctly
ReplyDeleteHephzibah, I posed the scenario based on the premise that one has found themselves unequally yoked in a marriage with an unbelieving spouse. Now, Amos 3:3 is indeed a bridge builder to many spouses in encouraging them in finding more areas to agree on as they seek to be in one accord. And ‘husband considering where the wife is coming from’ might be still farfetched with his son’s ear piercing demand but if I heard you correctly; compromising the word was not an option? I gather your answer is that one should stand their ground and wage a spiritual warfare until such a time victory will be delivered. Woman of God! This is the radicalism that the remnant church that is without blemish Yeshua Meshiach is coming back to. God bless....!
ReplyDeleteIn marriages where they are unequally yoked...hm!to my opinion when a man and a woman come together in marriage they are one flesh that's why i believe that if the husband is not a believer he is won over by the deeds of his wife.sometimes it may be hard on a wife not to compromise and that's where she has to desperately seek God not to compromise but believe that maybe just maybe God will touch her husband and he will change his mind about the ear piercing...but my response up there was just generalising in whatever situation that may come in a marriage.Well Denis in all we have to be alert always and the grace of God is sufficient for all...be blessed broda!!!!
